The city's arts and recreation teams are pleased to offer in-person and virtual summer camps and classes. All in-person programs will have health measures in place, including physical distancing, reduced class sizes and regular sanitizing of spaces.

In-Person Programs

These classes take place at various recreation and arts facilities. Safety precautions are being taken, including physical distancing of participants and regular sanitizing of areas.

Camps for youth

Sports camps take place at Carmody Park. Arts, history and dance camps take place at Lakewood Cultural Center and Heritage Lakewood.


Get creative with one and two-week youth camps. Create robots, practice art techniques, create plays, or hone acting skills!




A variety of classes for youth and teens, including tap, ballet and modern. Take place at Lakewood Cultural Center.

How to update your email

#3: "My Account" will appear at the top of the page. Click on it.

 #4: Click on the "Household and Member" dropdown option.

How do virtual programs work?

Most virtual classes are offered on Zoom. The instructor will host the program on Zoom, sending an email 60 minutes before it starts in order to allow you to join. Drop-in fitness class participants will get a link the morning of the class. 

How do I register?

You can register for virtual programs via our online registration site at or by calling 303-987-7800, just like you would an in-person program. Registration closes at 5 p.m. the day before the program starts.

Note: If you are eligible for SilverSneakers, Silver & Fit, or RenewActive but do not currently have an account with Lakewood Recreation, or you are not sure if you are eligible for those programs, please email

What do I need to do to prepare?

1. Update your email address in your online account.

You will be emailed a Zoom link before your class. Your email MUST be up-to-date in your online account in order to receive this link. To update your email, sign into your online account, then select 'my account' and update the household information with a correct email.

2. Download Zoom.

Be sure to download Zoom before the first class starts. Visit for video tutorials. 

3. Check your email 60 minutes before the class starts.

Your instructor will send an email to the email address listed in your online account 60 minutes before the class begins. Drop-in fitness class participants will receive a link the morning of the class.

Follow that link to join the class.

Virtual classes and activities are held through the Zoom conferencing software. Before your program begins, you will be emailed a special link to join the Zoom class by the instructor.
