 The City of Lakewood offers programs for teens, ranging from recreation and the arts classes to job training. 

Financial assistance is available via the Lakewood Possibilities Fund

Gymnastics

The Lakewood Link Recreation Center is home to a 5,000 sq. ft. gymnastics center that features a trampoline, balance beams, parallel bars and other equipment. Classes and drop-in activities are offered.

Rock Climbing

The climbing wall at the Lakewood Link Recreation Center offers 2,000 sq. ft. of bouldering, lead and top-rope climbing. Classes and drop-in activities are offered.

Sports Leagues

A cross country race starts at Bear Creek Lake Park. The city offers teen sports teams and leagues throughout the year. Contact Sports Programmer Ray Hilger at rhilger@lakewood.org or 303-987-5404 with any questions. Financial assistance is available via the Lakewood Possibilities Fund.

MSSP/Jeffco League Sports

The Jeffco League — previously known as the Middle School Sports Program (MSSP) — is a co-ed, recreational league for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at Alameda, Creighton, Carmody and Dunstan middle schools.

Participants are taught the basic rules of the game along with sportsmanship. Games and practices are held on Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday. Practices are held after school at the school where the participant attends. Transportation os provided to and from away games.
