Top Five Tips for Applying

  1. Take your time on the application: We take the time to review every application carefully so take your time in filling it out. Ensure your work history is accurate and you explain how your previous positions gave you the skills for the job you are applying for. Answer the questions on the application thoughtfully. These questions are designed to give us insight into your qualifications and personality.
  2. Check your Email: The majority of communication for interviews and updates on your application will be via email. Be sure to check your spam folder as well.
  3. Do Some Research: It really impresses us during interviews when candidates can tell us what they know about the City of Lakewood. It shows you are really interested in working for us.
  4. Be Respectful: Make sure you arrive a little before your scheduled interview time. Be courteous to all those you come into contact with at the city. We work in a respectful culture and we take into consideration how you treat others while you are interviewing.

We have 15 dedicated staff members who contribute to the welfare and effectiveness of city employees. We are organized into three divisions: Talent Management, Total Rewards, and Organizational Development and Risk.
