Sounds Exciting! Phillip-Michael Scales

Phillip-Michael Scales
Dive Bar Soul

“One of the next great American soul singers.” – The Revu Magazine

As a kid, Phillip-Michael Scales didn’t understand what it meant that his close family friend, a guitar player who referred to him as “nephew” and he as “Uncle B” was B.B. King. A Detroit native and Berklee College of Music graduate, Scales now delivers a mix of indie rock storytelling coupled with a passion of the blues and backed by lessons learned from “Uncle B” to create a sound he has coined as dive bar soul. Deemed “one of the next great American soul singers” by The Revu Magazine, this unique sound has gained him national radio attention, an invite to perform on the last season of the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” and has carried him around the world.

Opener: Tom Pakele & Stevie Guitar Glotzer

Tom Pakele & Stevie Guitar Glotzer Strong vocals, harmonica chops and solid rhythm guitar are what make Tom Pakele’s performances so powerful. Drawing from roots and rock genres combined with some original compositions, the sets are filled with fan favorites including songs from Tom Petty, Neil Young, the Band, the Grateful Dead, Greg Allman, Doc Watson, Bob Marley and Tom Waits just to name a few. Of course there are plenty of blues from Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Little Walter and Jimmy Reed as well.

Steve Glotzer has been performing his unique blend of latin, jazz and blues around the country at clubs, festivals and concerts for over thirty years. Often compared to Ottmar Liebert, and described as “Wes Montgomery meets Bruce Cockburn”, he has opened shows for a wide range of artists such as Delbert McClinton, Blues Traveler, Dr. John, Larry Coryell, David Grisman, Son Seals, David Wilcox, Sonia Dada Roger McGuinn, John Cowen, and Richard Elliott, just to name a few.
