Some items are not accepted by waste haulers, but they can be recycled or safely disposed of at special locations around Lakewood and the surrounding area. These hard-to-recycle materials can include household hazardous waste, electronics, bulky items like furniture or appliances, or any material excluded from your curbside waste or recycling bin.

HHW waste includes cleaning products, solvents, fertilizers, pesticides, paints, batteries, electronics, oil, prescription medicines, compressed gases, mercury, lead containing devices. Utilizing designated disposal and recycling programs for these materials is critical to protecting the environment and human health from harmful toxins.
