Project Description
The S. Wadsworth Blvd. and Morrison Rd. Intersection Improvements Project is currently under construction with the primary goal of adding acceleration and deceleration lanes into and out of Peak View Park, replace the traffic signal, and add a new sidewalk on the east of S. Wadsworth Blvd. from W. Woodard Dr. to W. Vassar Ave.

October 2025 Update
Recently Completed Work
Recently completed elements include paving for the new acceleration and deceleration lanes into and out of Peak View Park, as well as the park entrance itself. The sidewalk on the east side of S. Wadsworth Blvd. is now completed from the park entrance down to W. Vassar Ave.

Current Work
Current construction activities include installation of new streetlights along the new sidewalk, a new soundwall on the west side of S. Wadsworth Blvd. across from W. Vassar Ave., and landscape restoration and grading of areas disturbed during construction.

Upcoming Work
During the month of October, work includes placement of the final pavement on Morrison Rd. up to S. Wadsworth Blvd. Once the Morrison Road paving is complete, construction will begin for new median islands on S. Wadsworth Blvd. north and south of the intersection at Morrison Rd.

Traffic Impacts
Current traffic control includes lane closures of the new lanes on the edge of the roadway, and periodic lane closures during the daytime reducing S. Wadsworth Blvd. to a single lane northbound and southbound. Paving on Morrison Road will require approximately 200 feet of eastbound and westbound to be closed west of the intersection for final paving operations. This closure is scheduled to begin on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. and last until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. Detour route signage will be put in place to direct drivers of alternate routes. At the end of October into November, median construction will require northbound and southbound lanes to be shifted outward to the new pavement to allow for the work zone in the middle. Drivers can expect to see these lanes shifts for 3-4 weeks.

Target Project Completion
Major construction activities on the roadway are expected to be completed in late November. Final site restorations and landscaping will then occur for the next several weeks. Significant lane closures should be completed by this time, but periodic lane closures may occur to allow the contractor to access elements along the roadway.
