Sanitary Sewer Replacement - W. 14th Ave. from Teller to Newland
Project Description
The sanitary sewer in W. 14th Ave. requires being increased in size from the existing 8-inch line to a 12-inch line to accommodate increased flows. The sewer line is being replaced from Teller St. to Pierce St., where it is reconfigured to combine with an existing 18-inch system. The existing 8-inch line from Pierce St. to Newland St. will not be replaced but will receive a lining to prolong the pipe’s lifespan.
October 2025 Update
Recently Completed Work
The sewer replacement, lining and asphalt repairs were completed on Friday, Oct. 3. All equipment and lanes closures have been removed.
Current Work
The contractor is currently performing final site cleanup including removal of erosion control devices used during construction and reseeding of any disturbed areas adjacent to the work.
Upcoming Work
Final paving of W. 14th Ave. is scheduled for the week of Nov. 3 and will last 3-4 days. The top layer of asphalt will be replaced from Teller St. to Newland St. similar to the new asphalt that was placed west of Teller St. earlier this summer. One week prior to starting the paving, message boards and door hangers will be placed to notify the public of the upcoming work. No parking signs will be placed on the edges of the roadway 24 hours in advance of the work.
Traffic Impacts
No roadway or lane closures are currently in place.
Target Project Completion
All major work elements related to the sanitary sewer were completed on Friday Oct. 3. Final paving and striping is expected to be completed by Friday, Nov. 7.
