Commendation or Complaint

The Lakewood Police Department welcomes commendations from citizens regarding police conduct. We also strive to investigate and resolve all citizen complaints and allegations of misconduct against department employees.

Annual statistical summaries of complaints, commendations and internal affairs investigations are available to the public upon request. 

To file a commendation or complaint please choose one of the following options:

  • Contact the Internal Affairs Division at 303-987-7360 during normal business hours, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday – Friday.
  • Visit the Lakewood Police Department, 445 S. Allison Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80226 (appointment preferred).
  • Mail to Lakewood Police Department-Internal Affairs, 445 S. Allison Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80226.
  • Complete the online forms.
