Before and After School Care

Registration is open for the 2022-23 school year.

The City of Lakewood offers quality, affordable before and after school child care for elementary students. Care is provided at Belmar, Foothills, South Lakewood and Rooney Ranch elementary schools. If you have questions, call the Wilbur Rogers Center at 303-987-2490.  

Before and After School

Before and after school care is typically available to children ages 5-12. Care starts at 7 a.m. until school starts and from school dismissal until 6 p.m. Childcare is offered at Belmar, Foothills, Rooney Ranch and South Lakewood elementary schools.

Registration for the 2022-23 school year is now open.

Fees

$50 once per year registration fee
$35 for no school days
$12 for AM care
$15 for PM care (includes early release days)

How to Enroll

Step 1.ROONEY RANCH LOTTERY

Step 2.The lottery form is now closed. 

Due to the limited number of openings, the City of Lakewood hosted a lottery system for all interested parents/guardians of the school care programs at Rooney Ranch Elementary School for the 2022-2023 school year.

The form was available from July 11-18 and is now closed. Randomly participants will be contacted directly by email.

Step 3.ALL OTHER LOCATIONS

Step 4.#1: Pay the registration fee for your location. (KEEP YOUR RECEIPT NUMBER). 

Step 5.#2: Complete and submit an online application. You must include your receipt number and current immunization record.

Winter and Spring Break

The City of Lakewood offers fun, affordable and high quality child care during Jefferson County School District’s no school days, Winter and Spring Break.

Activities include field trips, arts and crafts and recreational sports.

Ages: 5-12

Time: 7 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday

Fees: $35/day (includes field trips, lunch not included)
