Located at 110 S. Cody St., this new .7 acre park is now open!
Cottage Park is home to a picnic shelter and open space for play, a playground with 20 play features, a public art installation and a unique sandstone labyrinth that visitors can walk through.
Formally home to the Meadowlark Cottages, the .7 acre site was acquired by the city from the Jefferson County School District in 2000. The two buildings on site were built in the 1960s to serve as elementary classrooms. The city utilized the buildings for early childhood programs until 2008, when they were closed due to failing infrastructure.
The city completed demolition of the buildings in early October of 2019 and finished construction of the park in July 2021.
