At the recommendation of West Metro Fire Rescue, and after monitoring the increased fire risk and drought conditions this year, the City of Lakewood will join other Colorado communities by canceling its traditional Independence Day fireworks display, the Big Boom Bash, scheduled for Saturday, July 2. The city is exploring other options to celebrate our nation’s independence and bring the community together in 2023. We wish everyone a safe Fourth of July holiday weekend.
