Pawnbroker License - Renewal

Pawnbroker licenses must be renewed annually. The renewal application must be filed with the City Clerk's Office no less than 30 days prior to the expiration date of the current license, per Section 5.24.090 of the Lakewood Municipal Code.

All prior city sales tax must be paid before a Pawnbroker license renewal can be approved. For more information about your sales or use taxes, visit the

Step 1.Download and complete renewal application

Step 2.Gather required documentation

  • New lease (if applicable)
  • A copy of Bond Continuation Certificate
  • Copies of balance sheets and income statements for the preceding twelve-month period
  • Total amount of pledged property value

Step 3.Submit application, documents, and fee to the City Clerk's Office

  • Nonrefundable license renewal fee of $2,500

The fee made payable to "City of Lakewood" by check or money order.
