“Staycation” adventures await: Discover summer fun at Bear Creek Lake

NATIONAL TRAILS DAY: Support Lakewood Parks during a volunteer project at William F. Hayden Park on Saturday, June 7, 8 a.m. - noon. Ages 10+. Tools and lunch provided.
LET’S GO FISHING: Learn fishing basics with Lakewood’s Park Naturalists at Cottonwood Park, Saturday, June 7, 9 a.m. – noon. Registration is required. Share your catches with #LakewoodParks on @LakewoodParks.
LET’S GO CAMPING: New to camping? Sign up for an introductory weekend for first-timers, June 20-21. Space is limited so register soon!
CAMPFIRE PROGRAMS: Saturdays in June and July, 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the amphitheater. Get free entry with a park pass, learn about animals, ecosystems and conservation and enjoy s’mores at the campfire after the event (starting June 21).
BIG DAY OF BUGS: Bring the family to explore the world of insects through interactive exhibits and hands-on activities designed to inspire curiosity and appreciation for our local pollinators and ecosystems on June 27 at Bear Creek Lake Park.
NATIONAL WILDLIFE DAY: Learn about local wildlife at the Visitor Center on September 4, 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Lakewood’s Park Naturalists share animal artifacts, craft projects and fun facts.
NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY: Help mitigate flood damage and replant along the Fisherman’s Trail on Saturday, September 27, 8 a.m. - noon. Hosted in partnership with Jefferson County Open Space.
