Lakewood Lights up the season with holiday cheer!

Get ready to sparkle! The City of Lakewood invites residents and neighbors to come together and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year at the free annual Lakewood Lights event. Join Lakewood's Mayor and City Council for a magical evening dedicated to community and holiday spirit at Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5.

Free leaf recycling for Lakewood residents begins Nov. 15

Lakewood’s free leaf recycling event is part of an initiative to support residents’ fall cleanup and spread awareness about the proper disposal of leaves. This year’s leaf drop-off event has been extended to two weeks and will take place from Nov. 15 to Nov. 30, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily at the city Greenhouse, 9556 W. Yale Ave. Staff will be available to assist residents on Saturday, Nov. 15 and 22.

Lakewood Bear Creek Trail Wins Colorado Lottery’s Starburst Award

This year’s second annual Colorado Lottery Starburst Awards People’s Choice winner is the City of Lakewood’s Bear Creek Trail improvements which beat out the Hanging Lake Trail Restoration project by just 13 votes. With 2,069 votes out of nearly 13,000, the people have spoken for this beloved community trail. Fort Lupton’s Community Park came in third.
