In 2025 the City of Lakewood, along with a land conservation grant from Jefferson County Parks and Open Space, purchased two acres of land on the former site of Vivian Elementary School from Jefferson County School District R-1. In addition, the district selected a residential developer to build single family homes on the property that will include a park land dedication of up to 1 additional acre for the new Vivian Park through the city’s residential development process.
The city is currently maintaining the new park space and a future public engagement effort with the neighborhood will determine new park amenities.
