Virtual Lakewood Earth Day Celebration

Virtual Earth Day Graphic with colorful butterfly and multi-colored graphic

Each year, communities across the world celebrate Earth Day as a way to increase awareness of environmental issues. In compliance with recent Public Health orders, the 2020 Lakewood Earth Day Celebration at Heritage Lakewood  was cancelled this year. However, this year we decided to try out a virtual celebration.

Love Letter to the Earth

Even after the virtual celebration, we will share photos and videos of Lakewood residents showing their love for the Earth!

Send us content of yourself celebrating the Earth -- whether it's a photo of you cleaning up around your neighborhood, a love letter to the Earth using one of our postcard templates below, a short video of how you're caring for the planet, or something else to celebrate Earth Day -- we want to see it and spread the love. Send your photos, letters and videos to us at Sustainability@Lakewood.org and we'll share as many as we can.

You can also use other fun decorative crafts you may have around the house to decorate your animal including tissue paper, googly eyes, pom poms and/or pipe cleaners! Let's get creative! You can also have on hand an array of other paints and paper if you get inspired to make other animals.
