Important Visitor Instructions

Lakewood Recreation is pleased to announce that Surfside Spray Park will open in a limited capacity on Tuesday, June 23. Online reservations are required and can be made up to seven days in advance. 

To ensure the health and safety of our guests and comply with public health orders, reservations will be allowed for 90 minute water sessions. This allows for sanitization and cleaning in between sessions. A maximum of 50 guests will be allowed during each session.

9-10:30 a.m.
11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
1-2:30 p.m.
3-4:30 p.m. (this time not available July 4)

Reservation Instructions

Review these safety guidelines before making a reservation: 

  1. Stay at home if you are sick or exhibiting any symptoms such as a sore throat, temperature of 100.4 or greater, cough, etc.
  2. Reservations and pre-payment by credit card only.
  3. Reservations are limited to one reservation per person, every three days.
  4. Cancelations must be completed online 24 hours prior to the scheduled session to receive a refund.
  5. Arrive no more than five minutes prior to your session. You will be greeted at the front gate to confirm your reservation.
  6. Ages under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  7. Only paid participants will be allowed to enter the facility.
  8. Face coverings are mandatory when entering the facility and in common areas. Face coverings may be removed during your splash pad session.
  9. Please adhere to 6-foot physical distancing with participants outside of your household at all times.
  10. Water fountains are not available. Bring your own water bottle.
  11. Restrooms will be open, lockers and changing areas will remain closed. Participants should shower before arrival and be water ready.
  12. No congregating will be allowed inside or outside of the facility.
  13. Please bring your own sanitizer.
  14. No vending machines or barbeque grills for use.

We welcome you back to Surfside and appreciate your compliance with the safety measures in place to protect the health of all participants.

Surfside Spray Park's small shelter has two tables, one grill and accommodates up to 20people. 

Surfside Spray Park's large shelter has six tables, one grill and accommodates up to 50 people.

Small Shelter
Monday-Friday, 1-4 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-noon: $60

Large Shelter
Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-noon: $75


Private rentals are for exclusive use of the park up to 100 people. It is available Friday-Sunday, 5:30-7:30 p.m.: $140 resident/$170 non-residents.

All rentals must be made online are made on a first-come, first-served basis.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Thank you for choosing to rent a Surfside Splash Park Picnic Shelter. We hope the amenities and our staff satisfies your needs and contributes to the enjoyment of your planned activities. We appreciate your cooperation in leaving a clean shelter so that other users may experience the same atmosphere you have enjoyed.

Please be sure to have your reservation paperwork with you upon arrival at the facility. Your reservation is valid from the start time listed on your confirmation receipt to the end time listed on the receipt. This time includes event set up and clean up and it is expected that the renter and all guests from their party be clear of the reserved area/park by the confirmed end time. Please understand that the shelter and/or facility are available for "Drop In" use prior to each confirmed rental. City staff will ensure each space is cleaned and made ready by the confirmed start time of your reservation.



  • All persons using the splash park do so at their own risk.
  • For your safety and the safety of others, Splash Park personnel will enforce the rules as necessary.
  • The use of toys at the Splash Park will beat the discretion of the Splash Park staff.
  • The City of Lakewood is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
  • Children under 7 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by an adult (18 years or older) at all times.
  • No glass containers, no smoking, no alcohol, no tobacco, no weapons, no pets permitted.
  • Infants to wear swim diapers or rubber pants if not toilet trained.
  • Do not place foreign objects in the spray jets.
  • Please do not run.
  • Family Friendly Area! Inappropriate behavior/profane language may result in ejection.



  • Consumption of alcohol.
  • Smoking is prohibited.
  • Amplified music of any kind that would disturb residents or other park users.
  • Placement of anything that blocks sidewalks or paths. Placement of buildings, structures, tents, canopies, charcoal grills or other equipment on the grass.
  • Pinatas or similar items that when broken require extensive cleanup.
  • Glass beverage containers.
  • Animals of any kind with the exception of ADA service animals.
  • Alterations of or physical damage to park shelters or resources.
  • Resale of food, beverages or other products.
  • Littering.
  • Dunk tanks, jumping castles or similar items.



  1. Electricity is NOT available in the shelters.
  2. Park shelters must be left in a clean and orderly condition. All litter such as decorations, unwanted food, trash and any other items resulting from the activities of the shelter users which accumulates in the shelter or surrounding park area must be placed in the trash receptacles provided.
  3. Contact park staff if you need additional trash bags or if any trash receptacle in the area requires removal.
  4. Applicant is responsible for any damage to sod, irrigation system, trees, shrubs or shelters.
  5. Applicant must bring the copy of the Park Reservation Request on the day of the rental, to be made available to city personnel upon request.
  6. Applicant is responsible for the conduct and control of participants. All park shelter use must be under the direct supervision of an adult.
  7. Activities must not conflict with or hamper public use of any park area, endanger persons or property or create a dangerous condition on park property or adjacent areas.
  8. Permission to use a park shelter does not constitute an endorsement by the City of Lakewood of any organization or group or of the beliefs of any organization or group.
  9. Use of park shelters will be denied if the group is advancing any doctrine or theory subversive to the Constitution or laws of the United States or the State of Colorado or if the group advocates social or political change by the use of violence.
  10. The City of Lakewood will not be held liable for any injuries to participants or damage to equipment or supplies. The applicant assumes all responsibility for use.
  11. Rental records are kept and denial of future rentals of city facilities could result if these conditions are not met.


A cancellation due to possible inclement weather must be received by noon the day of the scheduled event. Please call 720-963-5368 to cancel. If staff does not answer, please leave a message stating your name, reservation date and telephone number. If these provisions are not met, you will forfeit a service charge in the amount of $30.

If Surfside Spray Park staff must close the park due to inclement weather, a member of the staff will contact you as soon as possible at the contact number provided during the reservation process. Should the park be made unavailable to your group, the city will refund the reservation fee within five business days.

Cancellations received two or more weeks prior to an event may refunded. No refunds or rescheduling of reservations will be made for cancellations received less than two weeks prior to a scheduled event.
