Discover Lakewood's vibrant arts scene during the monthlong celebration of INSPIRE Arts Lakewood! From May 30 to July 3, explore a diverse array of free and low-cost arts and culture experiences at over 20 galleries, cultural centers, shops, and other venues across the city. Lakewood’s Heritage, Culture & the Arts facilities will host free community arts engagement activities throughout the month of INSPIRE Arts Lakewood.

  • Lakewood Cultural Center hosts an opening reception for the Women's Caucus for Art exhibition on May 30, presents the Tony Award-winning musical, “42nd Street,” June 13-29 with Performance Now Theatre Company and invites families to bring lunch and join a free craft on the plaza each Thursday in June, noon-1 p.m.
  • Washington Heights Arts Center offers creative fun for all at an engaging, community-driven arts destination. Participate in a community pottery project creating totem art pieces or sign up for art classes and discover a new hobby.
  • Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park hosts the annual Rockin’ Block Party with live music and an outdoor movie screening on Saturday, June 7, offers a new exhibit, “Remembrance of Korea and Vietnam” on display in the Visitor Center, provides tours of the historic structures by reservation and provides a great mid-week getaway with the Sounds Exciting! Summer Concert Series concerts beginning June 18.

INSPIRE Arts Lakewood is a carefully crafted partnership that showcases the vibrant and rich arts culture flourishing in the third-largest city in the metro area. Beyond the activities listed above, art lovers are invited to connect with a myriad of local artists, galleries, creators and creative spaces in the community.
