Water Utility Rates and Charges

The water utility rates for customers of the City of Lakewood water and sewer systems are adopted by resolution of the City Council.

Water customers pay a standard bimonthly service charge based upon meter size:

Multi-Family Customers

Multi-Family (5 units)	First 66,000 gallons are billed at $6.97 per 1,000 gallons used	Usage over 66,000 gallons is billed at $8.36 per 1,000 gallons used
All Other Customers	Winter (Nov. 16-May 14) usage is billed at $6.97 per 1,000 gallons used	Summer (May 15-Nov. 15) usage is billed at $8.36 per 1,000 gallons used

Customers who use the fire-protection service pay an additional bimonthly amount based upon the size of the service.

Miscellaneous Charges

Delinquent Billing Fee	5% per month on the past due balance, not to exceed $15 per month
Returned Check Fee	$18 per ACH
Department-Furnished Materials, Equipment, Labor Fee	City's actual cost
Transfer Fee	$25
Disconnection and Reconnection Fee	$25 each
Lien Fee	$50, plus collection charges
Construction Water Rate	Current volume charge, plus $100 processing fee, plus refundable deposit that equals cost of furnished materials
Meter Reading Check Fee	$25 per reading for all meter readings after first check during a billing period
Meter Removal Fee	$40
Meter Accuracy Test Fee	$60 if accurate
Inspection Fee	$25 per inspection
Stub-in Fee	No charge (included as inspection fee)
Special Permit Fee	No charge (included as inspection fee)
Penalty for Unauthorized Connection	10% of Lakewood tap fee
Penalty for Unauthorized Use of Hydrant Water	$500
