West Calahan Drainage Improvements

Project Description
Groundwater along W. Calahan Avenue has been flowing over sidewalks and into the curb and gutter between S. Upham St. and S. Pierce St. The City is currently evaluating options such as storm sewer and other mitigation applications to redirect these flows off the street to prevent future maintenance and icing conditions.

December 2025 Update

Recently Completed Work
Additional soil samples were taken on Nov. 24, and a full geotechnical report is expected the first week of December.

Upcoming Work
The project is currently under evaluation on how to best manage the groundwater in the area. 

Traffic Impacts
No traffic impacts are expected in December.

Target Project Completion
Timing for construction of the mitigation project will be evaluated based on these investigations.
