Sign Regulations

Permits are required for most signs and special event banners. Lakewood sign code can be found in the Lakewood Zoning Ordinance. The sign code regulations apply to most office and commercial zone districts; however, there are zone districts within the city that have special sign code package regulations that differ from the standard regulations. Prohibited Signs

• Pennants, streamers, balloons, wind signs or any other lighter-than-air objects
• Portable signs, roof signs or signs painted on fences
• Flashing or blinking signs (except in approved and properly designated areas)
• Off-premises signs
• Signs that are located in, or extend into, the public right-of-way.
