Lakewood is home to over 100 parks, many with both paved and unpaved trails. We have suggestions of parks to explore each week, but feel free to explore in your neighborhood or at any park. The important thing is to get out and get moving.
Mountainside Park
Enjoy the sunshine and take in the views at the base of the Rocky Mountain Foothills. Six trail laps will get you a mile at this beautiful park! Located adjacent to William F. Hayden Green Mountain Park if you are looking to continue your day with a hike.
Kendrick Lake Park
Walk, roll, or stroll the measured mile around the 31-acre reservoir. This trail is paved, increasing its accessibility to strollers and park-goers of all abilities.
James J. Richey Park
Explore this park is named for Lakewood's first mayor, complete the paved 1/3-mile loop trail 3 times to complete your Monday Mile!
Green Gables and Sanctuary Park
Explore these 2 parks across the street from each other to earn your Monday Mile. Complete the 0.43 mile loop trail around a scenic pond at Green Gables Park before crossing the street to Sanctuary Park, follow the unpaved walking path and enjoy some birding before turning back to the parking lot located at Green Gables park finishing out your Monday Mile at 1.02 miles.
O'Kane Park
The site of the former O'Kane Dairy Farm this park provides a welcome open space in the heart of Lakewood. Enjoy the historic O'Kane house, artwork, and pond while completing the 0.93 mile trail loop to earn entry to your Monday Mile.
Peak View Park
Enjoy expansive views of the Front Range from one of Lakewood's newest parks! Follow the paved and natural surface trails up and down a hill to compete your Monday Mile.
