Get out and get active with Passport to the Parks and Fitness in the Park

  

 Lakewood’s Passport to the Parks challenge: 12 parks in 12 weeks

Plus, get in shape with FREE Fitness in the Park

Lakewood’s Recreation Division, in partnership with Kaiser Permanente, is thrilled to announce this year’s Passport to the Parks challenge:  12 parks in 12 weeks!  Walk, run, bike or play in as many parks as you can in June, July and August and be sure to visit the 12 parks spread across the city highlighted in the passport provided to record your progress.  The challenge kick-off event is 9 – 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1 at Addenbrooke Park, 600 S. Kipling Parkway.

Registration costs $8 and includes the passport, T-shirt and map of Lakewood’s parks.  New this year is a special kid’s passport for younger participants.  Additional T-shirts cost $5 each.  For more information and to register, visit www.Lakewood.org/Recreation, call 303-987-5400 or stop by any Lakewood recreation center.

July is National Park and Recreation month.  Join us for free Fitness in the Park, 9 – 10 a.m. each Saturday in July at the Bonfils-Stanton Amphitheater at Lakewood Heritage Center, 801 S. Yarrow St.  Fitness in the Park is generously supported by Kaiser Permanente.  July 6 is Zumba, July 13 is Yoga, July 20 is Tai Chi and July 27 is a special family program featuring Zumba and Zumbatomic for kids.  No registration required.  Call 720-963-5366 for more information.
