Arrests Made After Shots Fired / Police Chase

On the afternoon of 8/8/19 at approximately 1:45 p.m., Agents with the Lakewood Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at the Candlewood Suites Motel at 895 Tabor St. in Lakewood. A multi-agency task force was tracking wanted suspect Roger Dale Reynolds (DOB: 10/27/83) when he allegedly fired a weapon at a Denver Police Officer near 8th Ave. and Urban Ct. The Denver Police Officer was not injured.
After shots were fired, the suspect fled the scene in a stolen vehicle and was pursued by Agents with the Lakewood Police Department along with Denver Police, Golden Police, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado State Patrol. Mr. Reynolds and an adult, female companion then left the vehicle and a short foot chase ensued. Both Mr. Reynolds and a female companion, Stacia Darline Smith (DOB: 6/2/93), were taken into custody by Lakewood Police Agents.
Mr. Reynolds is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail on several pending charges including suspicion of Attempted 1st Degree Murder of a Peace Officer, two counts of Aggravated Robbery, Vehicular Eluding and Possession of Weapons by a Previous Offender. These alleged crimes are in addition to the ones that Mr. Reynolds was wanted on in Denver. The Aggravated Robbery arrest is in connection with a carjacking that occurred on August 7th at the King Soopers at 1555 Quail Street in Lakewood.
