Arrest Made in Stabbing Deaths

On 8/15/19 at approximately 6:55 a.m., Lakewood Police received a report that an adult male was found dead by a walker at the Colorado Fire Fighters Memorial in Belmar Park. When Agents responded, they found a deceased adult male with several apparent stab wounds. That victim has been identified as 61-year-old Stevan Sandvick. That same morning just after midnight, Agents were called to another area of Belmar Park on a report of a stabbing. 19-year-old Ivan Rivera had been stabbed multiple times. He was transported to the hospital. He died a few days later.
On 8/21/19 at approximately 12:20 p.m., the Lakewood Police Department arrested 19-year-old Vicente Enrique Orozco (DOB: 1/1/00) for the murder of Mr. Sandvick and Mr. Rivera. Mr. Orozco is currently being held at the Jefferson County Detention Center on suspicion of 1st Degree Murder. A photo of Mr. Orozco accompanies this release.
