Lakewood Earth Day Celebration

2023 schedule of events coming soon

Join us for our second annual Parade of Species! Kids, adults, and pets are invited to bring or wear your favorite costume or make an animal mask at the event, decorate your wagons and strollers, bring an instrument, and march through our event in celebration of all of the animal and plant species with whom we share the earth. 

4 p.m. - Gather at the gazebo for the start of the parade.

Calling all vendors and food trucks!  Our vendor/food truck application is open now for the Earth Day Celebration.  We are excited to share your sustainable messages with attendees at the Earth Day event! Please see the application for all policies and details.

Please note: All of our spots for food trucks are now full. Please check back with us next year about food truck spots for the 2024 event.

In past years we’ve had an electronics recycling event as a partner to our Earth Day event. Due to declining participation, we will no longer host electronics recycling at this event.

Thank you to all of the artists who submitted designs for our 2023 Earth Day Celebration Poster Art Contest. As always, we were blown away by everyone's creativity and talent! Our winning artist for 2023 is Shannon Cline, who tells us "I’m a teacher in Lakewood who loves nature, learning and spending time with my family! I like to keep my art open-ended to allow for everyone’s interpretations to match their experiences. I see us walking toward a hopeful future rooted in sustainability."

Celebrate Earth Day by getting involved with your local park! Each year, volunteers assist staff with a project to help keep Lakewood's parks clean and beautiful. This year's volunteer day will take place on Saturday, April 22 from 8 a.m.-noon. at the Bear Creek Greenbelt.

Also, we are looking for volunteers to help make our Earth Day Celebration a success!
