Starting July 6 - Bear Creek Trail detour: Concrete repairs over Mt. Carbon and in Homestead Golf Course are scheduled to begin July 6 and will last at least four weeks. The trail will be detoured during this time. Download the Bear Creek Trail detour map(JPG, 1MB)

2021 events and park areas impacted: 

July 27, 6 a.m.-noon: The archery range will be closed for maintenance.

September 11, 7 a.m.-1 p.m.: Littlefoot Triathlon, Big Soda Lake and park roads/paved trails.

September 18: Paddle the Rockies Stand Up Paddleboard Race, Big Soda Lake.

September 25-26 (TWO DAY EVENT): Bear Chase running race (10k, ½ marathon, 50k, 50mi, 100k), majority of park trails.

October 3: Beti Bash women’s mountain bike race, Coyote Crossing and north park trails.

October 17: Beware the Bear running race, Coyote Crossing and north park trails.

Annual pass 

Annual passes are valid from date of purchase and expire on Dec. 31 of the pass calendar year. Passes are available for purchase online, at the park entrance station or at the Visitor's Center. Keep your email receipt until you receive your annual pass sticker in the mail.

General: $80
Senior (62+)/Person With Disabilities: $50 
Each additional vehicle*: $30 
*Additional vehicle passes must be registered to the same address. They can only be purchased in-person with proof of vehicle registration.

Reservable shelters

Coyote Crossing is located up the hill from the reservoir in a private, secluded location. It has 17 tables, 2 grills, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a large gravel parking area, running water (no electricity) and accommodates up to 250 people.
Fees: 
Monday-Thursday: $70/event
Friday-Sunday: $130/event

Meadowlark Cove is located just a short walk to the swim beach. It has 12 tables, 2 grills, volleyball courts (non-reservable), boat rentals, marina, concession stand, trails, a large paved parking area, electricity (no water) and accommodates up to 150 people.
Rental options: Rentals accepted Mondays-Thursdays only.
Fees: $130/event

Mountain View is located near fishing and trail access. It has 12 tables, 2 grills, running water (no electricity) and accommodates up to 120 people.
Fees: $70/event

Pelican Point is located a short walk to the accessible fishing pier and many lakeside trails. It has 24 tables, 3 grills, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a large gravel parking area, running water (no electricity) and accommodates up to 300 people.
Fees: $160/event

Skunk Hollow is located in a secluded, wooded field near the park entrance with easy access to creek and riverside trails. It has 6 tables, 2 grills, horseshoe pits, a small paved parking area, running water (no electricity) and accommodates up to 80 people.
Fees: $70/event

Reservations can be made online, over the phone (if paying with MasterCard, Visa or Discover) at 303-697-6159, or in person at the Visitors Center at 15600 W. Morrison Rd. (Morrison Rd. just south of c-470). All shelter rentals are made on a first come, first served basis.

Reservation rules and regulations

General Information

  •  All shelter rental hours are seasonal and based on park hours.
  • Fees do not include the daily vehicle entrance fee.
  • If alcohol over 6% will be consumed, a permit is required and can be obtained at the time of reservation for $100/event.
  • Commercial activities or special events are prohibited without a valid permit.

Cancellation Policy
Reservations canceled four (4) or more weeks in advance will be fully refunded. Reservations canceled up to two (2) weeks in advance will be refunded half of the fee and those canceled less than two (2) weeks in advance will not be refunded.

Inclement Weather Policy
Events canceled or rescheduled due to rain or snow will be approved on the day of the event only if the cancellation is made prior to the scheduled start time.
