Our Lakewood community becomes stronger when neighbors work together. It's easy to focus on your own needs and concerns, but a slight change in outlook can make a big difference in the day-to-day lives of a neighborhood and create a better, safer place to live for everyone. Check out some of our success stories in the sections on this page.
What is Lakewood Linked?
Lakewood Linked is a community engagement program that believes neighbors comprise all elements of our neighborhood…
- Faith organizations
- Service organizations
- Nonprofit organizations
- Schools
- Residents
- Businesses
...Together we can make a difference.
Nextdoor.com is a social media site that helps facilitate communication with your neighbors. City staff uses Nextdoor.com to post information of interest to residents about City of Lakewood programs, meetings, events and issues. However, the City is not able to see neighborhood conversations on Nextdoor and does not utilize the site to respond to questions. Since 2013, the Nextdoor.com sites have grown from 10 to over 120. You can join the conversation.
Introduced in 2014, The Lakewood Faith Coalition (LFC) is a collaboration of over 35 Lakewood faith-based organizations and their members. LFC builds partnerships with neighborhoods, businesses, schools and nonprofit organizations.
Their mission is to build a sense of community and collaboration by engaging and building partnerships among neighborhoods, businesses, schools, non-profit organizations, city leaders and faith communities.
Currently, the LFC is focused on supporting the needs of Lakewood’s Title 1 Schools. For more information, contact Perry Richards at perry.richards3@gmail.com, or Reg Cox at regcoxcc@gmail.com.
