How long have you lived in Lakewood?
What motivated you to enter public service?
I saw public service as a way to get to know my neighbors and work together for the betterment of the community we share.
What issues are you most passionate about?
Maintaining the quality of life we all enjoy and to keep our community safe.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to hike, fish, play golf, read, and do woodworking projects.
What is your professional and/or educational background?
I have been a practicing attorney for 46 years and was admitted to the bar in 1975. "Country Lawyer" in the San Luis Valley was my first job. During my career I have been honored to serve as Assistant Attorney General for Colorado and was later appointed by Governor Roy Romer to serve as District Court Judge for the 18th Judicial District. As Senior Attorney Advisor for the U.S. General Services Administration at the Denver Federal Center, I learned the intricacies of the federal government. I am widowed and have been blessed with two children and two beautiful grandchildren. As I age I remind myself to live each day as if it were my last and to be thankful for my family and friends, all of whom have done so much to support me along the way.
