Help make the annual free Earth Day Celebration a success!
The Earth Day Celebration is a one-day event showcasing companies, agencies and organizations that provide products, services, resources and information for attendees to make more sustainable choices.
Date and Time
Last Saturday in April, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Khaki pants or shorts, volunteer t-shirt and comfortable shoes. If the volunteer does not have a volunteer t-shirt, one will be provided upon arrival.
An orientation will be provided 15 minutes prior to your shift.
Food and Beverage
Coffee, water and snacks will be served from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Shifts: 10:30 am-1:30 pm and 1:15-4:30 pm
Shift #1: 10:30 am – 1:30 pm
10:30-10:45 am – Volunteer orientation
10:45 am-1:30 pm – Working at position (one 15-minute break will be provided) Shift #2: 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Shift #2: 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm
1:00-1:15 pm – Volunteer orientation
1:15-4:30 pm – Working at position (one 15-minute break will be provided)
Volunteers welcome guests, answer general questions about the event, provide directions and assist with any special needs. (Shaded & Mostly Stand)
Volunteers welcome guests and provide a general overview of the buildings history and answer basic questions. The overview will be provided during the training session. In addition, the volunteer will ensure guests do not bring food and beverage into the building and that artifacts are not handled. (Climate Controlled, Stand & Sit)
Volunteer ensures that guests do not bring food and beverage into galleries and that the artifacts are not handled. (Climate Controlled & Sit)
Volunteers assist guests in identifying and sorting recyclables from refuse. (Shaded, Standing & Sitting)
Volunteers assist with setting up food and beverage options for the volunteers, demonstrators and staff.
