Event Description

Celebrate the autumn season at the annual Cider Days festival! Cider Days include booths serving cider by the glass or gallon. Festival-goers can also bring apples (or buy them at the event) and use our presses to make fresh apple cider to take home. Experience a festival that combines the traditions of the past with family fun and entertainment. Cider Days has something for all ages!

Dress Code

Khaki pants or shorts, volunteer t-shirt and comfortable shoes. If the volunteer does not have a volunteer t-shirt, one will be provided upon arrival.

Orientation

Orientation will be provided 15 minutes prior to your shift.

Food and Beverage

Coffee, water and snacks will be served from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Shifts

Shift #1: 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

  • 9:30-9:45 a.m. – Food and beverage and orientation
  • 9:45 a.m.-1:30 pm – Working at position (one 15 minute break will be provided

Shift #2: 1-5 p.m.

  • 1-1:15 p.m – Food and beverage and orientation
  • 1:15-5 p.m. – Working at position (one 15 minute break will be provided) 

Job Descriptions

  1. Building Host
    The volunteer will be responsible for greeting spectators upon arrival & provide a general synopsis of the buildings history. The synopsis will be provided during your orientation unless you have already been trained in that building through the tour guide trainings. In addition, the volunteer should ensure spectators do not bring food and beverage into the building & ensure the artifacts are not handled. (Climate Controlled and Stand)

  2. Cider Pressing
    Volunteer will be responsible for monitoring cider lines, collecting apples from patrons, and pressing the apples with the cider press machine. Volunteers will ensure a safe working environment by ensuring patrons are not operating the machines and are a safe distance away.

  3. Cider Sales
    Volunteer will be responsible for the sale and service of cider. Volunteer will need to be comfortable with cash handling. (Shaded and Stand)

  4. Gallery Monitor
    Volunteer will be responsible to ensure spectators do not bring food and beverage into galleries. In addition, the volunteer will ensure the artifacts located in the buildings are not being handled inappropriately. (Climate Controlled & Sit)

  5. Recycling
    Volunteers will be assisting guests in sorting disposable items into trash or recycling into the appropriate containers. (Shaded, Mostly Stand and Some Sit)

  6. Ticket Distribution and Redemption/Greeter
    The volunteer will be responsible to assist with ticket purchases and collecting tickets upon entering the facility and provide guidance on vendor locations while distributing a variety of general information. The volunteer must be comfortable with handling a variety of cash and provide accurate calculations when distributing change to a spectator. The ticket purchases will be cash only. (Shaded, Mostly Stand and Some Sit)
