James J. Richey Park

James J. Richey Park and sign

Named for Lakewood’s first mayor, this site functions for both recreation and flood-mitigation. Dry Gulch Creek runs through its center and the park is designed for stormwater detention to protect downstream homes. Park improvements include a nice playground, play field, horseshoe pits and a 1/3-mile loop trail. The West Line light rail and trail forms the south edge of the park.
