Help shape Lakewood’s annual citywide budget by applying for an opening on the Budget and Audit Board. Interested in providing recommendations to City Council on other issues? Then apply to serve on the Lakewood Advisory Commission. Submit an application online by 5 p.m. Dec. 14 for the budget position and learn about specific qualifications at Lakewood.org/GetonBoard.

Budget and Audit Board
There is one opening for a three-year term beginning January 2023. This board serves as a financial oversight committee by reviewing the city’s financial statements and budget forecasts and providing feedback on budgetary compliance with city policies. Meetings typically occur once a month at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays. Preferred qualifications include a background in capital budgeting and strategic financial planning and a familiarity with financial statement audits.

Lakewood Advisory Commission
There are several openings for unexpired terms, and commission members research specific issues of interest to Lakewood residents to make recommendations to City Council for potential action on those issues. Members should plan to attend two meetings a month, one for the full commission and one for a committee meeting. Applicants must attend (virtually or by watching previously recorded meetings) both a full commission meeting and an individual committee meeting before submitting an application. Positions will be open until filled. Visit Lakewood.org/LAC for more information.
