May 12, 2022- Participate in transforming an iconic corner of the Lakewood community at West Colfax Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard by volunteering to join the community build for the West Colfax Sculpture Walk. Volunteer sign-up is now open for the build weekend, June 18-19, and the plant weekend, July 9-10.

“A community-build project becomes a rallying point for community spirit and a team-building opportunity for those involved,” stated Landscape Architect Nestor Fedak.

This highly visible parcel of land will be revitalized from a dirt-filled corner to an urban oasis and a gathering space with raised planters, boulders for seating, ambient lighting, and a spectacular 28-foot-tall sculptural centerpiece.

Sparked by a Neighborhood Participation Program grant from the city of Lakewood, this placemaking idea is a joint effort between the West Colfax Community Association and Lakewood-West Colfax Business Improvement District. The NPP program encourages neighborhood organizations in Lakewood to apply for funding for improvements that will make an impact in the community.

Public participation is key to the development of the West Colfax Sculpture Walk. View a short video about the history of this project, see the design and sign up to volunteer to bring the project to fruition by visiting Lakewood.org/SculptureWalk
