The City of Lakewood will host a public dedication to celebrate the grand opening of the city’s newest park at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25 at Cottage Park, 110 S. Cody St. A dedication ceremony will commence the event, including the unveiling of new park signage, followed by an opportunity to visit with Mayor Adam Paul and the project team. Participants can enjoy the colorful, interactive play features, and take a walk through the city’s first park labyrinth. Light refreshments will be provided.

Construction on Cottage Park began in 2021 following a public process where residents determined a new name for the park and what amenities and playground equipment should be included on the site. The City of Lakewood acquired the .7-acre property in 2000. It was formally home to Meadowlark Cottages built in the 1960s as classrooms for Jeffco Public Schools.
