Board of Appeals: There is one opening for a term ending March 31, 2022. This board hears and decides appeals from any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the building codes administrator. Meetings are held as needed. Members must be qualified by experience and training in building construction.
Noxious Weed Local Advisory Board: There is one opening for a three-year term ending May 31, 2023. This board is an independent entity responsible to the City Council and is charged with reviewing and approving noxious weed management plans, which are generated based on complaints received from adjacent property owners. This board, however, does not review or approve the city’s operational weed management plans for city-owned property. Meetings are held as needed. Members must be qualified by experience and training in landscaping, agriculture and natural resource management.
Lakewood Advisory Commission: There are several openings for three-year terms. Members serve as advisers to the City Council and research specific issues of interest to residents to make recommendations for potential action. Members should plan to attend at least one meeting a month. Applicants must attend a virtual meeting of both the full commission and an individual committee meeting before applying. Victim Assistance Compensation Board: There are two openings for a three-year term ending Sept. 30, 2023. This board considers requests for compensation to victims of crime through an application process and monitors the Victim Assistance Fund. Meetings are at 8 a.m. on the third Tuesday of the month.
