April 8, 2024 – Lakewood has opened a limb drop-off site following the weekend storm for residents that will remain open anytime through Monday, April 15 at the city Greenhouse, 9556 W. Yale Ave. Residents must be able to unload the limbs without assistance. The limb drop-off site is for storm damage only; yard debris will not be accepted.

Mulch is the byproduct of Lakewood’s tree trimming operations including limb and leaf drop-off events. Lakewood residents are invited to pick up free mulch 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturdays, May 4 and 11 at the Greenhouse. Staff will be available with a loader to assist residents with mulch pickup.

The mulch provided has been reground, which makes for excellent ground cover in shrub beds and around trees. Mulch helps landscaped areas retain water, which reduces the need for watering. It also assists with keeping soil temperatures consistent, which promotes the establishment of root systems. Mulch is an excellent weed barrier and beautifies landscaping.

Limb drop-off and mulch pickup are not available for commercial contractors.
