Lakewood celebrates Park and Recreation Month

Explore Lakewood parks and recreation in July during Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) that recognizes the essential services provided by park and recreation programs and the staff who support them.

Share how you use Lakewood parks and recreation for a chance to win prizes! Take a photo of your favorite park or activity and upload it to  Ten winners will be randomly selected on Aug. 2 to receive a package of Lakewood goodies PLUS complimentary day passes to a Lakewood recreation center and Bear Creek Lake Park.

This July, try something new – sign up for a class, dive into a pool or have a picnic at one of Lakewood’s new playgrounds. You are encouraged to view an A-to-Z listing of parks at or participate in free summer activities such as outdoor fitness court classes, evening campfire programs or morning fitness classes in the park.
