Mayor’s Inspiration Award accepting nominations

It has been a year unlike any other, and despite many hardships, special people and groups have stepped up to aid those in need. It’s time to recognize their inspiring work and commitment with the 2021 Mayor’s Inspiration Award, which acknowledges those having a significant impact in our community by recognizing contributions in engagement, collaboration, inclusiveness, diversity, innovation and community impact.

Nominations can be submitted online at Lakewood.org/MayorsAwards and will be accepted from April 15 through July 15. Watch this video to learn more.

Multiple awards could be given in each of the following categories:

  • Youth: any individual under the age of 18
  • Individual: any individual age 18 or older
  • Organization: any business, association, service organization, nonprofit, team or a group
  • In Memoriam: any individual who made an impact during his or her time in Lakewood.

Mayor Adam Paul and City Council look forward to hearing about the inspirational efforts in our city. Winners will be selected in August and recognized at a City Council meeting on Sept. 27.

The Lakewood Advisory Commission, which consists of residents who advise City Council on issues important to Lakewood, recommended the creation of the award as a way to recognize those having a significant impact in the community.
