W. 20th Avenue – Vance to Teller streets
Project Description
The traffic signal at the intersection of W. 20th Ave. and Teller St. will be replaced and new sidewalk and ADA compliant curb ramps will be added on the south side of W. 20th Ave. from west of Vance St. to east of Teller St. to connect the sidewalk gap in this area. Storm sewer pipes will also be added to help mitigate drainage issues in the area.
December 2025 Update
Recently Completed Work
Construction of major items for the project was on-hold while easements were acquired for the new storm sewer network.
Current Work
Construction of the storm sewer pipe is ongoing and will extend through December. Current storm sewer construction is north of W. 20th Ave., between Vance St. and Upham St., and will extend towards W. 20th Ave. in the coming weeks. Utility companies will also be relocating their overhead fiber optic lines underground at the W. 20th Ave. and Teller St. intersection.
Upcoming Work
Work will begin in the coming weeks to construct the foundations for the proposed traffic signals at the intersection of W. 20th Ave. and Teller St. Overhead utility relocations will continue after the foundations are complete and will extend through December.
Traffic Impacts
Traffic control will include intermittent lane closures at the intersection of W. 20th Ave. and Teller St. to facilitate the traffic signal foundation construction and utility relocations. Once storm sewer construction begins, additional traffic control will be installed along W. 20th Ave. to provide a safe working area for the contractor. Two lanes of traffic will remain open during this phase of construction.
Target Project Completion
Major construction activities on the roadway are expected to be completed in early Winter 2026. Final site restorations and landscaping will then occur in the Spring of 2026. Significant lane closures should be completed by this time, but periodic lane closures may occur to allow the contractor to access elements along the roadway.
