Any business selling alcoholic beverages in the City of Lakewood must obtain a state liquor/beer license, a city liquor/beer license and must comply with Colorado Revised Statutes and the Lakewood Municipal Code.

The City offers free seminars to all liquor/beer licensees and their employees. These seminars take a preventative approach to the two most challenging issues facing licensees: sales to minors and intoxication.

The liquor licensing authority, officially known as the Lakewood Liquor and Fermented Malt Beverage Licensing Authority, makes decisions on the granting or refusal of liquor/beer license applications and conducts hearings on alleged violations. The Authority meets at 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month in the City Council Chambers.
