REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
RESOLUTION: 2009-53
SUBJECT: Adoption of the City Council Policy & Procedures Manual for 2009/2010.
RECOMMENDATION: Adoption of this resolution which affirms the policies and procedures used by City Council to conduct its routine business including reaffirmation of the use of Robert’s Rules of Order for meeting management.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: Section 2.02.020 of the Lakewood Municipal Code requires that the City Council adopt and periodically revise its Policy & Procedures Manual and directs that a copy of this manual be made available at all times in the City Clerk’s Office.
Each year the City Clerk and the Director of the Office of the Mayor and City Manager review the manual to ensure its accuracy and timeliness as it relates to organizational structure, active committees, reimbursements, and any other activities or changes in State Statutes.
The City Clerk and the Director of the Office of the Mayor and City Manager represent that the manual is a true reflection of the Council’s policies and procedures.
