A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING USE OF LAKEWOOD’S CREDITS PURSUANT TO XCEL ENERGY’S FRANCHISE TO BURY ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION LINES IN THE VICINITY OF THE COLFAX AVENUE AND KIPLING STREET INTERSECTION

WHEREAS, Xcel Energy’s franchise with the City of Lakewood provides credits to Lakewood to bury existing electric power lines; and

WHEREAS, the City is improving the Colfax Avenue and Kipling Street intersection; and

WHEREAS, the City desires that Xcel bury the electric power line generally located along the east side of Kipling Street from approximately 14th Place to the Lakewood Heights Drive and 13th Place intersection.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1.  Xcel Energy is directed to use Lakewood’s undergrounding credits pursuant to the franchise to bury the power line generally located along the east side of Kipling Street from approximately 14th Place to the Lakewood Heights Drive and 13th Place intersection.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on June 8, 2009, at 7 o’clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center South, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
