A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT (IGA) WITH THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT (RTD) FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FEDERAL CENTER-UNION CORRIDOR CONNECTIVITY PLAN.

WHEREAS, The City of Lakewood desires to create a plan to connect the Federal Center light rail station to the surrounding commercial and residential neighborhoods; and

WHEREAS, The City of Lakewood has received a grant to fund the project from the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) that will be administered by RTD; and

WHEREAS, The City of Lakewood and RTD have agreed to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement that outlines the scope of services and responsibilities for the plan; and

WHEREAS, The City of Lakewood has selected a consultant to design the plan.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1.  The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, in form approved by the City Attorney, an IGA between the City of Lakewood and the Regional Transportation District for the development of the Federal Center-Union Corridor Connectivity Plan.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 10 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on May 11, 2009, at 7 o’clock p.m. at the Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
