RESOLUTION: 2009-7
SUBJECT: Establishing a Business Relocation Policy for businesses relocating within the City as a result of RTD's West Corridor Light Rail project.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve Resolution 2009-7 adopting the Business Relocation Policy.
FUNDING SOURCE: General Fund
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
The West Corridor Light Rail Business Relocation Policy would provide for voluntary, supplemental financial assistance to Lakewood businesses displaced by RTD's acquisition of their property for the Light Rail line which choose to relocate within Lakewood. The Policy sets forth the eligibility criteria and defines the various categories of expenses for which a relocating business might receive benefits. The Policy has been revised to incorporate changes requested at the Council's Study Session, and more recently to expand the definition of "Displaced Business" to include businesses that can no longer legally operate at their current location because of the partial acquisition of the property.
