REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
ORDINANCE: O-2009-25
SUBJECT: Ordinance authorizing the City to convey a Permanent Easement to West Metro Fire Protection District for an underground storm water pipe across Jewell Park at 1850 South Garrison Street.
ADDRESS: 1850 South Garrison Street.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this Ordinance authorizing conveyance of the easement to West Metro Fire Protection District.
FUNDING SOURCE: N/A
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: West Metro Fire Protection District is in the process of replacing the existing fire station, located at 9001 West Jewell Avenue. As a result of the replacement of this facility, the District needs to construct an underground storm sewer pipe that will connect to the Sanderson Gulch Storm Drainage facility, located in Jewell Park, to drain the storm water from their onsite detention pond. In order to connect the detention pond to the existing storm drainage facility, West Metro Fire Protection District has asked the City of Lakewood to grant a Permanent Easement,. Community Resources staff has reviewed this request and have no concerns.
