REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
ORDINANCE: O-2009-16
SUBJECT: Ordinance authorizing the City to convey a permanent easement to the Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District for the replacement of an existing water line adjacent to the bridge on South Estes Street as it crosses Bear Creek. The Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District is also asking for a permanent access easement along the sidewalk to access the water line for the construction and any future repairs.
ADDRESS: 2800 South Estes Street.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this ordinance authorizing conveyance of the easement to Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District.
FUNDING SOURCE: N/A
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The City of Lakewood has been asked by the Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District to convey an easement for a water line across the Bear Creek Green belt Park. This easement would allow the District to reconstruct the existing water line that is adjacent to the bridge on South Estes Street as it crosses over Bear Creek. The reconstruction of this line will help provide better water service to the neighborhoods in the area. The District is also asking for an access easement along the existing sidewalk in order to access the water line for reconstruction and any future repairs. Community Resources staff has reviewed this request and have no concerns.
