ORDINANCE: O-2009-14
SUBJECT: Designating newspaper for publication of ordinances and other matters
ADDRESS: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: Approval of ordinance.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: Ordinance O-2005-21 named the Rocky Mountain News the official newspaper for the City of Lakewood. Since the Rocky Mountain News is no longer being published, this Ordinance would repeal Ordinance O-2005-21 and name the Denver Post as Lakewood’s official newspaper for the purpose of publishing legal notices and ordinances.
The Denver Post will continue to publish an insert to their newspaper entitled YourHub.com which will be included with every mailing of the Denver Post. YourHub.com is neighborhood-specific and the version distributed in Lakewood includes information specific to Lakewood. Lakewood will continue to publish its legal notices and ordinances in YourHub.com.
