AN ORDINANCE

APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A LEASE/PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR GOLF CARTS FOR USE AT THE HOMESTEAD GOLF COURSE

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lakewood has by Ordinance No. O-2008-25 adopted a budget for the City of Lakewood for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2009 and ending December 31, 2009 and has appropriated funding for the first annual payment towards the lease/purchase of 60 golf carts; and

WHEREAS, the City desires to utilize a single source for the golf carts in accordance with the City of Lakewood Municipal Code Section 3.04.030; and

WHEREAS, financing the golf carts through a lease/purchase agreement has economic benefits to the City.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1.   The City Manager is hereby authorized to sign, and the City Clerk to attest, a lease/purchase agreement in form approved by the City Attorney with Textron Financial Corporation for the acquisition of 60 golf carts for the Homestead Golf Course with an annual lease payment of not more than $57,960.00.  

SECTION 2.   Funding will be provided by the Golf Course Fund.

SECTION 3.  This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after final publication.

I hereby attest and certify that the within and foregoing ordinance was introduced and read on first reading at a regular meeting of the Lakewood City Council on the 23rd day of February 2009; published by title in the Rocky Mountain News and in full on the City of Lakewood's website, www.lakewood.org., on the 26th day of February 2009; set for public hearing on the 9th day of March 2009; read, finally passed and adopted by the City Council on the 9th day of March, 2009, and signed, and approved by the Mayor on the 10th day of March, 2009.
