MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF
CITY OF LAKEWOOD
FEBRURY 9, 2009
ITEM 1 – CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Murphy called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m. in the City Manager’s Conference Room, Lakewood Civic Center South, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
ITEM 2 – ROLL CALL
Those present were: Mayor Bob Murphy, Presiding
Adam Paul
Debbie Koop
Karen Kellen
Doug Anderson
Ed Peterson
Sue King
Vick i Stack
Cindy Baroway
Absent: Diana Allen and Tom Quinn
Full and timely notice of this City Council meeting had been given and a quorum was present.
Councilman Peterson made a motion to hold an Executive Session is to discuss negotiation strategies relating to Lowry Landfill Natural Resources Clean-up, per C.R.S. 24-6-402(4)(a) and (e) and Section 2.15(c)(2) and (3) and to receive attorney-client communication regarding the same and regarding potential pending litigation, per C.R.S. 24-6-402(4)(b) and Section 2.15(c)(4) of the Lakewood Home Rule Charter.
It was seconded by Councilman Paul.
Councilwoman Kellen recused herself due a potential conflict of interest with her employer, the Environmental Protection Agency.
Vote: 8 Ayes. 0 Nays. 1 Recusal (Kellen). The motion carried.
ITEM 4 – ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council; Mayor Murphy adjourned the meeting at 6:18 p.m. and the City Council went into an Executive Session.
